Best Way to Feng Shui Your Garden with Statues and Rockeries
Metal objects and stones will help contain and settle the energy in your garden. They can become points of focus and strong features.
These materials are most harmonious to the south-west, west, north-west, north or north-east of your home especially if they are close to it. A wooden statue is harmonious in the north, east, south-east or south.
A rockery is often a lower feature than a statue and, therefore, creates a more stable feeling, whereas a statue will often command a greater presence and be a more striking feature. The ideal site for a rockery is to the north-east. However, you could also choose the south-west, west, north-west or north which would also be harmonious.
The way a statue influences the flow of chi energy is primarily determined by its shape and the material it is made of. In addition, many forms of statuary are symbolic and this can influence your own flow of chi energy. For example, a statue of a couple in a loving embrace will help encourage feelings of romance.
When planning a garden you can use statues to emphasize an area. For example, a statue in the middle of a circle will draw attention to that area. A statue can also complete a view, and one at the end of a path will define what the path leads to. You can also use a statue to create a surprise. For instance, you could partially hide one among plants, or a statue could suddenly come into view as you round a corner.
Building a rockery
To build a rockery, begin by establishing the site. The ideal site for a rockery is to the north-east, but the southwest, west, north-west or north are also harmonious. Think about how you want the rockery to look. Look in gardening books or magazines for inspiration. Prepare the site and build your rockery.
Color contrasts
You can create exciting color combinations in the garden by surrounding a rockery with steel grey chipped slate and luscious green foliage.
The chi energy of statues
To increase the romance in your life, place a romantic, metal statue on a round base in the western part of your garden. The statue should have red in its coloring, or you can surround it with red flowers,
To strengthen the chi energy associated with progressing your career, try putting a tall, wooden statue surrounded by green plants in the eastern part of your home or garden.
To enhance the chi energy that can lead to greater family harmony, install a low clay or plaster statue, with yellow-leaved plants or flowers around it, in the southwestern part of your garden.
For greater peace and tranquillity, a glass statue with a flowing shape would be ideal in the northern part of your garden. An ice statue would have a similar effect.
To increase the fire chi energy associated with fame, public recognition and passion, position a star-shaped or pyramid statue in the southern part of your garden. Purple flowers around the statue will enhance this further.
